Statistics Help andTutors at UAlbany

APSY210 students should first contact their instructor and the TA pool for assistance. While the TA role is different from a tutor, they can be of considerable help. The student should arrive to the TA office with specific questions after identifying where they became confused. TAs cannot provide direct assistance on assignments/projects/exams/quizzes, they can help work through class exercises and presentations to clarify the points where confusions arise.

Two sources of tutors may be avialble, but they are not likely to be as helpfu as the TA's who know the course and the textbook.:
1. The Psychology Department Advising Center may have a list of individuals who are available for hire to tutor statistics. These would typically be advanced graduate students who have statistics training, but they may not know the textbook used in your course.
2. The University Undergraduate Advising Center sometimes has individuals available for statistics tutoring. These individuals may not have familiarity with our courses, our textbook, or key elements of statistical applications in the psychological sciences.
